FLAT FEET

High Arches and Flatfeet, both foot types tend to sustain abnormal biomechanical forces on different areas of the foot and leg. Force has proven to be the biggest risk factor for injuries over motion. These excessive forces being placed on the feet has a cumulative effect over time which would lead to pain, injuries, deformities and early degenerative conditions such as arthritis – same reason why we often see bunions in flatfeet.

Can my foot type be changed?

No, we cannot restructure your foot type without a total foot reconstructive surgery. However, we can ‘recondition’ your feet. Our treatment approach aims to reduce compensations from the abnormal forces, minimize pain and injury, and delay the progress of any degenerative changes or deformities that are associated with flatfeet such as bunions or hammer toes.

How we do it?

At this Dublin based Foot Clinic, Our hands-on treatment techniques will improve your high arches or flatfeet, by releasing the soft tissue and joint restrictions, restoring joints to their natural position, activating the muscles that support your arches and ankles. This will alleviate your foot, ankle, knee, hip or back pain as a result of the poor biomechanics of your feet. We offer tailored treatment techniques in line with each person’s unique conditions.

If you don’t feel pain

Asymptomatic flatfeet or high arches should not be ignored. Studies tell us that pain happens at a later stage of the problem, so it’s not an accurate indication of the underlying problem that has been happening. Early and appropriate intervention will ensure your feet will carry you through life! You would service your car regularly even it seems running fine, right? Great! Instead of leaving it to a state where it is almost breaking down, you offer some maintenance service.

We believe preventative care is about doing the best things to maintain optimal foot and leg health. We are here to help with keeping all the muscles and joints of your feet working efficiently for as long as possible, to ensure you have the quality of life you deserve!
